Recycled content stretch film is an option that every business should consider.
Sustainability.
By using recycled content films, you are reducing the use of virgin materials. The vast majority of plastics are made from the polymers found in crude oil which is a non-renewable resource. By using a stretch wrap that incorporates recycled content you are decreasing our reliance on these resources and contributing towards a circular economy.
Cost.
The Plastic Packaging Tax, which was introduced in April 2022, is levied on plastics that do not meet the threshold of 30% recycled content. At a rate of £200 per tonne, this tax can be a significant burden to businesses. By using a stretch film with 30% recycled content you are meeting the requirements and therefore avoiding the tax.
Performance.
Many people are concerned that recycled content will dramatically impact the performance of the film. However, whilst this is true to an extent, recycled content stretch films still perform to a high standard. We have proved that recycled content films are able to run effectively on high-speed wrapping lines and at high stretch without issues such as snapping. This means that a well optimised recycled content film can still help you to reduce cost per pallet wrapped and the weight of plastic applied to each pallet.
