What is nano pallet wrap and what are the benefits?

What is the difference between a standard pallet wrap and a nano pallet wrap?

Standard pallet wrap is commonly made from around 5 layers of polymer whereas nano pallet wrap is made up from many different layers (usually 55 layers although as technology is continuously improving this number is constantly increasing).

Each layer in nano pallet wrap has different properties which are designed to improve the overall performance of the film. These layers are arranged in a lattice to give the film very high puncture resistance.

What are the benefits of nano pallet wrap?

  • The unique structure of nano films means that it has a high puncture resistance. This makes it suitable for wrapping awkward loads such as mixed pallets. It is also effective at wrapping loads with sharp edges, for example building materials.
  • Nano films can also help you to reduce your packaging costs and plastic usage. The high puncture resistance and performance can allow you to reduce the thickness of your pallet wrap without the risk of snapping or negatively impact pallet stability. This will help you to cut costs and plastic waste.
  • Nano films can typically be stretched to a greater ratio that standard pallet wrap which will increase yield and decrease cost per pallet wrapped and plastic consumption.
  • If you are wrapping heavy or unstable loads, nano films can help you to reduce the risk of movement in transport. If applied correctly, nano pallet wrap can offer much greater holding force and therefore ensure pallet stability.
