September Market Update: UK Border Checks

Any Scandinavian companies that export to the UK need to be aware that the post-Brexit border checks at UK ports are coming into effect in the new year.

Full customs declarations and controls will come into force on 1 January 2022, so anyone that will be shipping goods into the UK from this date be prepared for possible delays or issues at UK ports as the change is introduced.

Ports globally are already experiencing a turbulent time, with the effects of the pandemic and the global shipping crisis. But the UK specific changes will also add another layer of complexity for those importing into the UK.
