August Market Update: Typhoon In-Fa China

In our previous updates, we have already discussed how congestion at ports across China and Asia has caused issues for global shipping and logistics. Following on from the pandemic, and the issues faced with shipping, parts of China have now been hit with a typhoon, which will undoubtedly cause further disruption to the already turbulent logistics landscape.

Typhoon In-fa hit parts of central China, including Shanghai, a few weeks ago – leading to record flooding, 1 million people relocated and power cuts. Flights and train services were stopped, and ports closed in the wake of the typhoon. Businesses involved in shipping and logistics have undoubtedly been impacted, so this may have a knock on effect in your supply chain.
